Internships

We do offer internships for individuals pursuing a Hospitality degree. The ideal candidate is a Hospitality student who will soon be graduating and is interested in a permanent management position with our company. We have current manager's throughout Michigan, Wisconsin, South Carolina, Missouri and Florida who went through an internship with us and they liked us so much, they've stayed with us. However, it is not required.

Our current MIT program somewhat mast our internship program. That is, four weeks initial training in the kitchen, four weeks training in the front of the house and one-week spent for Hooters University classroom.

Obviously, your school's requirements may affect the length of the internship. Typically, a 400-hour program is standard. We have been able to extend our current nine-week program to 10 to 12 weeks, if necessary.

Interns are paid an hourly wage during the course of their stay with us. The rate is determined by the Regional Manager that is offering the internship. However, the general range is $8.00 to $12.00 per hour, depending on the area of your internship.

It is necessary to be able to complete your internship at one of our Regional stores. The duration of your training must take place in one of these stores. If you wish to do an internship with us but there is no Training store near you, it will be necessary for you to make your own travel accommodations/hotel arrangements. Hooters of America, Inc. will not pay travel or hotel expenses for internships. However, if you are granted an internship and a permanent position is offered by the Regional Manager upon graduation, we will cover hotel expenses during the duration of your internship/training.
